      So amazing!

I am based in Manchester, however I worked on the CERN site for several months. The scientists who make up CERN are from all over the world. The people I collaborate with most closely are from America, Japan and Germany. This gives CERN a fantastic international feel. A conversation will often be filled with a large array of accents. All the scientists at CERN speak English, though it is a variation of English that is filled with physics jargon. It’s a little peculiar that I became so used to speaking in this jargon that when I moved back to the UK, I felt like there was a bit of a language barrier between myself and my family. 😛

Everyone at CERN is working towards the same goal, to push back the boundaries of our physics knowledge. To be surrounded every day by people who all think along the same lines as you is simply incredible.
