My favorite thing ABOUT space is it’s size – it’s ridiculously massive, far more massive than we can even possibly comprehend!

Because it’s so big, it’s so wonderful to think about – if you remind yourself that you’re just a microscopic part in this possibly infinite thing we call space then so much wonder is restored to the world we at times become too familiar with.

Besides being so massive, it’s also got some very strange properties – it expands, it has dark matter in it, it started from something ridiculously small (the big bang) – all things that make reality seem like the craziest fantasy story!

If your question was, what is my favorite thing IN space? then I’d have to say the Sun – just because it makes me feel warm and it makes pretty colors when it sets or rises 😀

Gravity! Because it is everywhere and it effects everything, even light. It causes space to stretch and makes time run slower.

It’s what makes planets and stars form. It keeps the planets in our solar system orbiting the sun. It’s the stuff that holds galaxies together. And when it gets REALLY strong it can rip a hole in space itself and we call these black holes.
